Student nurse survives Lassa fever in Ekiti

 

A student nurse, who got infected with Lassa fever, has been discharged from the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, where she had received treatment.
For promptly responding to the student nurse and nursing her to recovery, the management of the hospital on Monday presented certificates of excellence in service to a nurse, Mrs Adejoke Awotona, and others who worked with her.

How four friends raped a 14-year-old girl in Lagos

 

Femi Olatunji, 17; Oyekanmi Rasheed, 18; Oladele Habib, 18 and John Alade, 16, have been arrested and are being detained in Lagos, for allegedly conniving to rape a 14-year-old female friend of theirs.
The victim couldn’t talk about her ordeal for a while as she said the friends threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident.
The young girl narrated that the incident took place when she went to fix her dress with Femi who is a tailor.

TWO SISTERS IN INDIA HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO RAPE.

Two sisters in India, one of whom is only 15-years-old, have been "sentenced" to rape.  Her father has also Lodged a complaint saying that his family has been harassed, not just by the family of the woman who has eloped, but also by the police.
The Khap panchayat, or village council has now decided that the barbaric "punishment" will be inflicted on the sisters as retribution. Sumit Kumar, another brother of Meenakshi, said that 'the Jat decision is final', adding, 'The police said anyone can be murdered now.' Amnesty International has however launched a petition calling on India's authorities to interveneimmediately and protect the two sisters.
